Integrated Pest Management
To ensure top-quality products that guarantee the health and safety of consumers and respect of the environment, the founder of the farm cultivates using "integrated pest management" strategies, following the indications of the National Pest Management Guidelines and Regional Regulations.
"Integrated pest management" methods are cultivation techniques with low environmental impact that reduce to a minimum the use of agricultural chemicals, favouring first the use of physical and biological methods and only afterwards, use of synthetic control methods.
The national guidelines are lists that cover applicable synthetic substances for each single crop: these substances are chosen on the basis of criteria that focus on low environmental impact and reduced danger for the operator.
Each region can add to these national lists on the basis of problems that are typical of their particular cultivation zone.
